Job Summary
The Workplace Health Solutions Scout is primarily responsible for processing drug and occupational health services related to pre-employment background screening applications. This position is accountable for working within ScoutLogic’s client guidelines as well as the Federal Credit Reporting Act’s (FCRA) regulations to provide minimal turnaround time and high quality results on background research requests.
Reports to: Vice President, Operations - Pod Leader
Working Hours: 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. CST.
Responsibilities
- Retrieves and enters a variety of information from various computer and web based systems related to an applicant’s history
- Searches and retrieves information from files, computer records, and other document
- Locates information and documents quickly and accurately in accordance with applicable laws and procedures
- Supplies timely updates and notifications of delays
- Understands the drug and occupational health services and terminology, and interprets results
- Communicates effectively with candidates and clients to retrieve additional information as needed
- Performs duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred – specializing in Criminal Justice a plus
- 1 to 3+ years related work experience
- Familiarity with FCRA a plus
- Familiarity with TazWorks background screening software a plus
- Familiarity with E-Screen
- Intermediate knowledge of Google business applications a plus
- Strong familiarity with the internet, including internet research experience
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent English speaking skills

Prior Experience
Data Analyst, Data Entry, Research Assistant. Any position where basic analysis is required, following detailed directions, performing repeated tasks consistently and accurately and measuring progress against benchmarks is common.
Performance Measurement
- Daily and weekly drug and occupational health search volume (“productivity”)
- Weekly/Monthly QA results
- Scout Efficiency (this includes call and email volume)
- Daily and weekly TATs (TAT = turnaround time)
- Customer Satisfaction/Client Feedback
Training Process
A new hire will be taught hands-on with manager on ScoutLogic software tool and will supplement the training with our internal training manual. The basic training first tackles court composition and offense definitions, Federal Fair Credit Act (FCRA) requirements, client product definitions and the basic drug and occupational health research process and basic software navigation. Then the new hire will begin performing actual drug and occupational health research using the provided online links and begin to follow the internal reporting process. The new hire will have every search reviewed by manager for up to 12 weeks until each search type is completed successfully and accurately. Once the new hire has performed the drug and occupational health searches without error, manager will assign new hire searches and will manage his/her queue independently. Manager will review the queue daily and report back to team on the daily operations call.
